PLEASE AVOID CHEAP EICR’S, this is often an indication that the electrical contractor may try and make their money by identifying rectification work that doesn’t necessarily need doing.
For example, they win the work by being the cheapest but will back you into a corner by incorrectly failing a report to gain the rectification works, Re-wire, DB change etc.
Secondly, they have loads of limitations listed on their EICR report or Non verified test results which allows them to be in and out within 30 – 45 minutes. Leaving you with a report that is not worth the paper it’s written on and fundamentally, not correctly inspecting the electrical safety of the installation. This could lead to unsafe items being missed.
What is an Electrical Safety Certificate or EICR?
The correct terminology for a Electrical safety certificate is now called an EICR (Electrical Installation Condition Report)
In simple Terms: It is an electrical report that is carried out by electricians to determine if the electrical installation is safe.
